NACOS Week 2025: Empowering Students to Build Resilient Tech Futures
A Gathering of Visionary Tech Minds
The Nigeria Association of Computing Students (NACOS), Foundation Polytechnic Chapter, hosted the highly anticipated NACOS Week 2025, bringing together hundreds of tech-enthusiastic students, professionals, and educators under one roof. Themed “Building Sustainability: Computing with Resilience,” this edition was focused on empowering attendees with the knowledge, mindset, and tools needed to create lasting impact in Nigeria’s growing tech space.
With over 10 speakers drawn from tech companies, digital hubs, and training institutes, the event was a melting pot of innovation, mentorship, and collaboration. Key discussions covered the importance of resilience in computing, real-world tech applications, and how young Africans can position themselves in today’s fast-evolving digital economy.
As one of the official sponsors of NACOS Week ’25, Mita School proudly contributed to the event’s mission by leading a powerful and highly engaging session titled:
“Venturing Into Tech: Your First Steps”
Our presentation aimed to demystify the journey into tech for students who are curious but unsure where to begin. With a passionate focus on accessibility, relevance, and empowerment, our facilitators walked attendees through:
- The various tech paths available to beginners, from no-code tools to data analytics, UI/UX design, software development, and cybersecurity
- How to start without fear, even with limited resources or experience
- Free tools and learning platforms to help students practice and grow
- Real-life stories of students who launched their tech careers through Mita School programs and build projects that are solving problems.
It wasn’t just a presentation, it was a wake-up call and a map. We spoke directly to students’ realities and showed them how tech can become more than a buzzword, it can be a pathway to a meaningful career and a brighter future.
Attendees actively participated in our Q&A session, asking questions about the first steps to take, how to stay consistent, and how to transition into freelancing or employment. Our team also shared exclusive discounts for our upcoming holiday tech bootcamps, alongside printed flyers and access to our online community.
Our presence at NACOS Week ’25 wasn’t just about sponsorship, it was about planting seeds. At Mita School, we believe that every young person deserves a chance to build a tech-powered future and events like NACOS Week are vital in making that belief a shared reality.
As the event wrapped up, one thing was clear: the next generation of resilient, innovative tech builders is here and they are hungry to learn, build, and grow.
Mita School remains committed to supporting that growth every step of the way through beginner-friendly courses, hands-on training, and community-driven programs that make tech education accessible to all.
