Student Code of Conduct

Purpose: The Student Code of Conduct at Mita School is designed to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. This code outlines the expectations for student behavior, promotes academic integrity, and fosters a positive community within Mita School.

Respect for Others:

  1. Treat all members of the Mita School community with respect, courtesy, and consideration.
  2. Avoid any form of discrimination, harassment, or bullying based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or any other characteristic.

Academic Integrity:

3. Uphold the highest standards of academic honesty.

  1. Avoid plagiarism and other forms of academic dishonesty.
  2. Use technology responsibly and ethically.

Attendance and Punctuality: 6. Attend all classes and activities regularly and punctually.

  1. Notify appropriate personnel in advance in case of unavoidable absences.

Classroom Conduct: 8. Follow instructions from teachers and staff.

  1. Participate actively and positively in classroom discussions and activities.
  2. Refrain from disruptive behavior that hinders the learning of others.

Use of Facilities and Resources:

11. Respect and care for school property, facilities, and resources.

Dress Code:

13. Adhere to the school’s dress code policy, maintaining an appearance that is neat, clean, and appropriate for an educational setting.

Health and Safety:

14. Prioritize the health and safety of oneself and others.

  1. Follow all safety guidelines and procedures provided by the school.

Conflict Resolution:

16. Resolve conflicts peacefully and respectfully, seeking assistance from staff when necessary.

Consequences for Noncompliance:

17. Violations of the Student Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary actions, including but not limited to verbal warnings, written warnings, parental involvement, counseling, suspension, or expulsion, depending on the severity and repetition of the offense.

Appeals Process:

18. Students have the right to appeal disciplinary decisions through the established grievance and appeal process.

Review and Revision:

19. The Student Code of Conduct is subject to periodic review and revision to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. Any changes will be communicated to students and parents/guardians.

Acknowledgment: By enrolling at Mita School, students and their parents/guardians acknowledge receipt and understanding of the Student Code of Conduct. Adherence to these principles is essential for creating a positive and conducive learning environment for all members of the Mita School community.
