Pasted text and opened files
The JSON processing code runs in your browser. A Web Worker parses the document, checks syntax, formats or minifies tokens, and provides rows for the tree viewer. The tool does not send pasted JSON or file content to a remote formatting service.
Opening a file reads the file you select through the browser’s file API. Dropping a file into Input uses the same local reading flow. The tool does not access other files on your computer.
Document storage and sharing
This release does not automatically save your JSON in localStorage, sessionStorage, a database, or a public sharing service. Closing the tab ends this tool’s in-memory document session, although browser session restoration and operating-system behavior are outside its control.
The Theme setting may save a light/dark preference in localStorage. That preference contains no JSON document content. The release includes no analytics script, remote editor library, or remote font dependency.
The page and its static assets load from the hosting service. The host may process ordinary connection information, such as an IP address and request logs, under its own policies. This description of local JSON processing does not mean that loading a website involves no network traffic.
Clipboard, downloads, and repairs
Paste requests clipboard reading when you press the Paste button. If the browser declines permission, you can paste using your keyboard. Copy writes the current output to the clipboard when you choose it. A tree row’s path button can also copy a path.
Download creates a file from the output in the browser. The input file is not uploaded to generate that download. A repair preview is also computed locally and changes the input only when you choose Apply to input.
What this promise covers
Local processing describes this release’s code. It does not control browser extensions, clipboard managers, screen recording, shared devices, malware, or modifications that a hosting administrator adds later. Use device and access controls appropriate to the information you handle.
The document limits are 10 MiB of UTF-8 input, 256 levels of nesting, and 300,000 values. Large output uses a limited on-page code preview; Copy and Download include the full generated result. These limits are intended to keep a browser tool practical and are not a claim of unlimited processing.
